About me

Shafrin Islam multidisciplinary artist who is driven by the power of storytelling. Her work spans the fields of illustration, comics, watercolor painting, animated installations and embraces both digital and traditional animation techniques, including hand-drawn and puppet animation. In addition, her artistic journey delves into the realms of multimedia design, music, photography, and the meticulous craft of miniature making.​

Currently pursuing an MFA at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, she is passionately immersing herself in the realm of expanded animation, pushing the boundaries of her craft. Her research interests include fragmented narratives and storytelling approaches for expanded cinema and immersive visual experiences.

When she is not working, she is found playing the piano, looking for interesting places to eat or staring at the clouds.
